Salesforce Rooftop Park
San Francisco, California
Prior to founding SHED, Jenny led the landscape architectural team on the groundbreaking Salesforce Park project. This elevated oasis is home to a rich tapestry of horticulture, showcasing a collection of over 600 trees and 16,000 plants across various themed gardens that echo the diverse ecosystems of the Bay Area. The park features walking trails, a central lawn for gatherings, an open-air amphitheater, and a children's play area. Its design cleverly integrates into the city's fabric, with sustainable water use and a focus on native and drought-tolerant species. The park is not only a technical achievement, with its innovative soil and irrigation systems supporting significant loads on the transit center's roof, but also a green retreat that brings a piece of the natural world into the urban skyline. (This work was conducted during Jenny’s tenure as a Partner at PWP Landscape Architecture.)
